Alpha 1.21: the Retro Adventure
A new mode in 8-bit style: you run left and right yourself, jump onto blocks and pipes and reach the goal flag in three levels.
This is new in Alpha 1.21:
The Retro Adventure
- A new game mode at /retro: here you do not run automatically – you steer yourself: left, right, jump and sprint.
- Blocks to jump on: climb bricks, hard blocks, stairs and pipes. Head-butt question blocks from below for coins and smash bricks.
- Enemies: stomp on crawling and flutter beetles – and careful: better not jump on spike balls.
- Three levels by day, at dusk and at night, each with a goal flag, a time limit and three lives.
Razor-sharp pixels
- The picture is drawn at true pixel size (16 × 16 per block) and then scaled up by a whole number – without smoothing. All edges stay sharp, even on large screens.
Controls
- Keyboard: arrow keys or A/D to run, space or arrow up to jump (hold longer = higher), Shift to sprint, P or Esc to pause.
- Phone and tablet: buttons for left, right and jump.
The Retro Adventure is a fun mode: results do not count for the Top 10, your best score is only stored in your browser. The endless run in the retro world stays as usual.
